Captain/Owner Mark Tilly -USCG Master of Oceans

Captain Mark grew up on Clearwater Beach sailing local waters since he was a child. His passion for sailing took him across the Atlantic Ocean when he was 15 years old. In 1986 Mark participated in the USA Bicentennial sailing operation on a Square-Rigger. Early on in his career he skippered multiple large sailing vessels for deliveries worldwide. Captain Mark has an established 38-year career as a Merchant Marine Master on vessels up to 50,000 tons DW.  He helped to design and build the "Schooner Clearwater".  Captain Mark is always enthusiastic to share a true schooner sailing experience with you onboard.

Captain Trevor Bearham -USCG Master Inspected Vessels Auxiliary Sail

Captain Trevor started his sailing adventures in Southern California at the age of 14, on a Cal 29 sailboat cruising the coastline of San Diego. After gaining a Masters License in 1986 he has travelled from the Mediterranean to the Marshall Islands on many different types of vessels. Now retired from Tug boats and ship service he’s relaxing on the deck of “Schooner Clearwater” available as your Captain for fiery sunset cruises, dolphin viewing, and any other marine life that show up to watch our vessel glide thru the beautiful waters of Clearwater Beach.

Captain George Griffis -USCG Master Inspected Vessels Auxiliary Sail

Captain Georges' 35 year love for sailing began when he took a job renting Hobie Cats in the Florida Panhandle.  One of his most cherished sailboats was a wooden 81-foot Gaff rigged schooner he owned and operated for a number of years. Captain George has sailed large catamarans out of Clearwater Beach along with professional sailboat deliveries to the Caribbean and back throughout his long sailing career. He looks forward to sharing his joy of sailing with you on the "Schooner Clearwater"!

First Mate Zach McClow -USCG Master/Mate Inspected

Zach was raised locally enjoying all aspects of the beach.  When he ventured into the workforce his jobs always involved working in or around the water. Currently Zach is in training for his Captains license and sailing endorsement so he can skipper Inspected Vessels.  Every sailing excursion onboard the Schooner Clearwater brings a new and unique experience to Zachs’ sailing background.
